Caiman Ecological Refuge

Location The Caiman Ecological Refuge is located 147 miles west of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul State Capital. The Caiman Ecological Refuge is comprised of one main lodge and 3 additional lodges in strategic points of a 53.000. That is as follows.  Caiman, Piuva, Baiazinha and Cordilheira. These lodges are occupied in 2 distinct programs and in packages. Spanish-building has 11 apartments with private baths and air conditioning, a pool, a restaurant with offers home made meals and living room with TV and video Helpful Information Check in:  3:00pm Check out: 10:30am Guests can arrive as early as 9:00am at the pousada but will only have access to the room at 3:00pm (unless there is available rooms at the time of check in Guests can leave caiman as late as 3:00pm, but must leave the room at 10:30h. All reservations done at Caiman , will be subject to stay at any of the 4 pousadas (see 4 pousadas below).   Passengers will NOT be able to choose in which pousada they will be staying. This will be informed only upon arrival at the Lodge Attention: Pousada Piuva doesn't operate anymore, in it place now there is Main Lodge II.   Opening hours of Caiman main entrance   Gate will be opened at 6:30 am and will be closed at 09:30pm.   No one not even with a private transfer will be allowed in at a different hour.  Price for Transfer  each Way  $72.00 per person   Inbound Outbound Departs Campo Grande Arrives Caiman Departs Caiman Arrives C.       CAIMAN MAIN LODGE - Spanish-building has 11  apartments with private baths and air conditioning, a  pool, a restaurant with  Offers home made meals and  living room with TV and video. 

      CAIMAN MAIN LODGE II  -  100m away from Caiman Main Lodge I, it has 6 rooms with private baths and air conditioning,  a living room and a deck with a beautiful view, in its small restaurant  is served only breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at Main Lodge I.

      BAIAZINHA LODGE - raised on wood stilts, it stands at the edge of a small cove of permanent wetland, facing a rooting site. This rustic style lodge has 6 rooms with private baths and terraces, selling fans, ample living room, home  style restaurant and an observation tower. Distant 9 Km away from Caiman Main Lodge

      CORDILHEIRA LODGE - Build on stilts, this singular lodge is situated on the edge of a seasonal wetland, with a castle like tower with provides a more extensive view of the  surrounding ridges. It has 6 apartments with private bath and terraces, ample living room and home style restaurant and ceiling fans. Distant 17 km from Caiman Main  lodge.

 

Activities

Program at the Posada includes 3 activities per day - morning / afternoon / evening - such as:

      Boat tours, alligator spotting, video presentation, horse back riding, photo safari, Farm tour, ecological track and others.   Activities are not fixed and may vary according to the weather conditions.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY before a ticket can be issued you need to send a COMPLETE credit card form and a copy of an ID and

back and forth of the Credit card. A reservation is not considered as TICKETED unless all the forms have been received by our office in a timely matter during business days ( Monday - Friday ) . The Agency is not responsible for  missed ticketing deadlines and or price changes
